Upgrade preparation
Note: Nuix Collector Suite 100.8.0 requires Windows 7 or newer.
Nuix Collector Suite 9.2.0 and newer no longer utilize the Sentinel LDK licensing system or install the Sentinel runtime. If you are upgrading from Nuix Collector Suite 8.8.4 or older, the Sentinel runtime from the previous Collector installation will not be uninstalled automatically. No action is required regarding the Sentinel Runtime; however, you can disable or remove Sentinel Runtime if you wish to, as follows:
Checking for other applications which require Sentinel Runtime
The Sentinel LDK Runtime's "License Manager" service may be required for other applications running on your computer, so disabling this service or uninstalling the Sentinel Runtime may block other applications from running. Before disabling or uninstalling this service:
Browse to http://localhost:1947 from the computer where the older Nuix Collector Suite is installed.
Review any active license keys, to determine whether the License Manager service is enabling other applications besides the older version of Nuix Collector Suite.
Uninstalling Sentinel Runtime (optional)
Do this only after you have verified that Sentinel Runtime is not required for other applications on your computer. If you are not sure, it is better to disable the License Manager service rather than uninstall the Sentinel Runtime. This service can be re-enabled if you discover another application requires it.
The Sentinel LDK Runtime can be uninstalled prior to upgrading Collector Suite 8.8.4 or older by running the following program from an administrative Command Prompt:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Nuix\Nuix Collector Evidence Browser\Hasp\haspdinst-collector.exe" -r
The -r command-line parameter will remove the Sentinel Runtime and its License Manager service.
If the haspdist-collector.exe file is no longer present, you may be able to uninstall the Sentinel Runtime via Control Panel > Programs and Features. If necessary, contact Nuix Technical Support to obtain this program.
