Introduction

Welcome to the Nuix ECC Administration Guide.

About Enterprise Collection Center

Enterprise Collection Center (ECC) collects files in a systematic and dependable manner to meet legal requirements, business continuity requirements, archiving, data mining and other purposes.

Files are collected across multiple platforms from:

numerous personal computers

across multiple server shares

home computers beyond the firewall

PST files exported from Microsoft Exchange™ mailboxes and public folders

SharePoint® servers

Collection processing does not overwhelm the network or the performance of individual workstations and servers

The process is easy to set up and operate.

In addition to performing file collections, Enterprise Collection Center can perform various additional tasks on networked computers, including:

Collect forensic disk images

Collect deleted files, unallocated clusters and file system tables (Windows computers only)

Collect volatile information (operating system details, network information and details on running processes)

Capture network packet information from specific computers

Perform secure file deletions

Deploy data files and utility programs

Launch non-interactive programs or scripts

Move collected files to a designated storage destination

Locate specific files wherever they happen to reside

Browse files and access a command shell on any connected ECC Client computer

Enterprise Collection Center’s powerful and flexible features let you manage data across your network.
