RPF Supervisor service servers
The RPF allows for distributed processing across multiple machines. RPF Supervisor service servers distribute jobs to worker components for processing. Adding more RPF Supervisor service servers enables you to increase the capacity to run concurrent operations, for example, indexing, cube building, productions, optical character recognition (OCR), concept analysis, and importing, and it allows you to process larger volumes of data. The application recommends a minimum of three RPF Supervisor service servers.

RPF Supervisors with Ingestions
Ingestions is an optional licensed module that runs as an RPF worker that allows clients to process unstructured data sets, which can include native files and emails, extract metadata, and load processed data directly into the application.
Ingestions consists of:
A single instance of Nuix Management Server to license the Nuix Engine.
The Nuix Engine API, which is built into the RPF Supervisor.
The following table describes the hardware and system requirements for a single Supervisor server running the Ingestions worker. We recommend one RPF Ingestions Supervisor for every four Nuix Engine workers.
