Set up GroupWise as a trusted app to process unsupported GroupWise emails
Nuix Workstation indexes GroupWise email through the trusted source application that is built into GroupWise. Use the following three-stage process to index this type of mail store.
Create a trusted application key
The first step is to create a "trusted application key" for the Nuix Workstation software, which authenticates Nuix Workstation to the GroupWise server as a trusted application.
To create a trusted application key:
Install Nuix Workstation on the machine where the auditing process is to occur. Recommended: Install on a different machine than the GroupWise server.
Go to the bin directory in the Nuix installation path. By default, this is:
C:\Program Files\Nuix\Nuix Desktop\bin
Copy the GroupWiseTrustedAppInstaller.exe and GWTApp.dll files to a temporary directory on the GroupWise server.
Start a new Command Prompt on the GroupWise server, and change directories (cd) to the temporary directory containing the previously named files.
Run the command GroupWiseTrustedAppInstaller.exe with the following parameters, where the first argument is the location of the GroupWise domain directory (should contain the wpdomain.db file), and the second argument is the application name, in this case, nuix. For example:GroupWiseTrustedAppInstaller.exe c:\groupwise-data\domain-data nuix
The output of this command is Nuix Workstation software's trusted application key.
Save the application key.
You must provide this value in the Mail Store Configuration dialog on the auditing machine.
To modify further properties of the trusted application:
From ConsoleOne, select Tools > GroupWise System Operations > Trusted Applications.
An example of a property you can change is the IP addresses that the trusted application is permitted to use.
If you require a new trusted application key, run the GroupWiseTrustedAppInstaller.exe again. This overwrites the existing key, making it obsolete.
Enable IMAP protocol and specify IMAP read limit
To ensure you enable the IMAP protocol on your GroupWise server:
Edit the IMAP settings in the startup file for your associated GroupWise post office.
If the post office program runs interactively, to access it, from the Configuration menu select Edit Startup File.
Restart the post office program if you make any changes.
Specify the /imapreadlimit option in the post office startup file to download and read 50,000 messages from a single folder, as follows:
/imapreadlimit-50
Refer to the Novell Documentation for more details.
Connect Nuix Workstation to GroupWise server
Once the application is set up as trusted, connect Nuix Workstation to the GroupWise server to download messages from all user accounts without users entering a password.
To connect Nuix Workstation to the GroupWise server:
Open Nuix Workstation and create a new case.
Complete the necessary information and click OK to add evidence to the case.
In the Add/Edit Evidence dialog, select Add Network Location and then select Mail Store.
Select the GroupWise Trusted Application protocol, and enter the trusted application name and the saved key you obtained in the previous steps. Once you create a new case, the software connects to the GroupWise server and downloads message data for every user account on that server.
