Search bar

The Search bar, located at the top of a Workbench tab, provides you with a tool for performing both simple and complex searches against an evidence set. Searches run against items that match any existing filters and items that are not excluded.

The Search bar has the following components:

Down arrow

Click this to save the search you are running. Also use it to edit any saved search.

Previous and Next

buttons

Use these to advance backward or forwards through searches last performed in the current open session of Nuix Workstation. Searches you performed prior to the current session are not available.

When you use these buttons, Nuix Workstation automatically runs the search, and updates the items in the Results pane.

Search text field

Type in or paste in a search query in this free text field. The Search field can hold an unlimited number of characters.

Search button

Click this to run the search in the Search field.

Date filter

Set by default to the No date filter; you can select to use one of the following options to use with calendar controls: Between, Not Between, After, and Before.

Calendar controls

Specify dates (year, month, and day) in the two calendar controls to use with the Date filter. To do so, click the drop-down arrow to select a date using the visual calendar tool or enter in the date you want to use in the field.

Clear button

Click to clear the search field and all filters, and set all search criteria back to the default settings.

Advanced button

Click to open the Advanced Query Builder tool for building more complex queries without needing to know specific Nuix Workstation or Lucene search syntax.
