Manage Documents
On the Manage Documents page, administrators can delete documents from a binder, import and export documents, populate hashes, and work with levels, load file templates, and productions. Group leaders and group members with access to administrative functions can perform certain tasks. For information about how to grant administrative access to group leaders or members, see Grant administrative access.
Administer bulk annotations
The Bulk Annotations feature allows users to apply highlights or redactions to multiple documents simultaneously.
Delete documents
You can delete documents from a binder.
Administrators can export documents from the Manage Documents area of the application or directly from search results on the Documents page. The export feature uses the Processing Framework (RPF) for fast, multi-threaded processing. Exports are submitted as processing jobs, which can be queued and processed in parallel by multiple RPF workers.
Use the File Repositories feature to browse the file repositories connected to their case, see which files are currently in the case, and calculate the size of all files in any subfolder.
To ensure consistent coding for documents in a review, the application can group documents that are exactly the same and create master/duplicates groups. To be exactly the same, documents must have the same MD5 hash value and source/attachment relationships. Before reviewers can work with master and duplicate documents, you must run a populate hashes job.
Create TIFFs, PDFs, and .jpeg image files of documents. For example, if you want users to be able to redact documents that were loaded into the application as native files, you can use the imaging feature to create image files of the documents.
The import feature uses the Processing Framework (RPF) for fast, multi-threaded processing. You can import documents into the application using .mdb or SQL load files. Imports are submitted as processing jobs, which can be queued and processed in parallel by multiple RPF workers.
The ingestions feature allows you to process unstructured data sets, such as native files and email messages. You can also extract metadata and load processed data directly into the application. Configurable settings for ingestions include filtering by search term families and date ranges, and managing deduplication.
Levels
A level provides a way to group or organize documents.
Load file templates
A load file template is a file that specifies how data is organized in a load file for export. The application provides document load file templates and page load file templates. The application also provides a set of predefined system load file templates that you can modify to meet case-specific requirements.
Migration
Copy, or "migrate," base documents from one case to another.
Productions
The productions functionality provides a workflow for managing document productions in the application. Only portal and case administrators can access the productions function on the Productions page.
Renumbering
You can renumber imported documents using the Renumbering feature.
